Swiss Life successfully migrates portfolio onto eBaoTech AssetLink system

January 15, 2009

In Q4 2008, a joint Swiss Life – eBaoTech team successfully migrated more than 15,000 contracts onto the existing eBaoTech AssetLink platform which administers structured life insurance policies for the business unit Private Placement Life Insurance (PPLI). The uniqueness of this migration lay in the variety of product types the business offers and the country-specific requirements which need to be reflected in the system. This represents a major step in the harmonization of the IT platform of the PPLI business unit. The migration was done in a mixed onshore-offshore project approach, with teams working out of three locations in Zurich, Schaan and Shanghai, and has proven Swiss Life’s ability to migrate efficiently portfolios onto a state-of-the-art IT platform. Customer service teams in Schaan, Zurich and Singapore are now working jointly on a modern and flexible web-based administration system, fully integrated into the Swiss Life environment.

Carl Christensen, COO Swiss Life PPLI, comments: “We managed to successfully execute this truly challenging project within the planned time plan and on budget. This has been a great achievement considering the complexity of the book of business. This project completion has provided Swiss Life PPLI with the fundamental framework to realize efficiency gains whilst ensuring a continuous improvement in the customer services level we deliver to our clients”.

Tomek Bugajski, Project Director eBaoTech, comments: “We are pleased with this legacy portfolio migration project being completed within the original time plan and on budget and look forward towards expanding together with Swiss Life’s PPLI into the new markets and regions such as Luxembourg and other European locations”.
