TransGlobe Life Insurance Selects eBaoTech LifeSystem Suite to Transform its Policy Administration System

June 3, 2014 –  TransGlobe Life Insurance (TGL), following on an increase in the number of policyholders to over 4.6 million since the merger with Kuo Hua Life Insurance in 2013, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The insurer has selected eBaoTech® LifeSystem Suite to enhance its core policy management business and improve the quality of services offered to policyholders. TGL plans to deploy the eBaoTech LifeSystem Suite to replace its existing policy administration system to improve its operational efficiency. TGL chairman James Liu, general manager Zhang Yonggu, director Lin Wenhui as well as eBaoTech chairman and president Woody Mo and senior executives of IBM, system integrator of the project, attended the “TGL System Transformation Project Kickoff Meeting” held in Taipei in mid-May to commence the project. With the system transformation project, TGL will integrate and optimize its business processes, be able to respond to the changing business needs through the provision of the highly stable core system, provide comprehensive sales support and services for policyholders, and offer customer-centric services.

The TGL System Transformation Project, expected to be operational in 2017, will depoly eBaoTech LifeSystem Suite and a couple service and administrative support systems. In addition, the project will also improve TGL’s overall operational performance, including upgrading the standardized business processes, accelerating the time to market, integrating its sales channels, providing a full range of sales support and services for policyholders as well as enhancing operational efficiency and reducing long-term operating costs. In terms of policyholder services, the project will help TGL significantly accelerate the underwriting and claims processes and provide TGL with a 360-degree view of its policyholder base, allowing for a deeper understanding of its policyholders and their demands in a move to provide them with better services.

MSIG Mingtai Selects eBaoTech GeneralSystem Suite to Enable its Business

Hong Kong-based Dah Sing Life Assurance Deploys eBaoTech LifeSystem for Traditional and Unit-Linked Insurance Businesses

eBaoTech LifeSystem helps life insurer expand business capabilities and customer service to support its growth strategy

eBaoTech, a leading software provider for the life and general insurance industry, is pleased to announce that Hong Kong-based Dah Sing Life Assurance is now running its traditional and unit-linked life insurance operations on eBaoTech LifeSystem Suite.

Dah Sing Life Assurance (DSLA) operates its life insurance business in Hong Kong. In January 2011, DSLA selected eBaoTech LifeSystem to replace its legacy systems running its traditional life and unit-linked businesses. Phase 1 implementation consisted of the replacement of several legacy systems and the implementation of standardized and automated processes to replace formerly manual procedures, and was successfully completed on 5 March 2012.

Phase 2 of the implementation was completed on 2 April 2013 and included the migration of existing customer data from legacy systems to eBaoTech LifeSystem, integration with Dah Sing Life’s CRM solution, and the addition of direct marketing and telemarketing channels. With this successful go-live, all existing data from the legacy systems have been migrated into eBaoTech LifeSystem, and Dah Sing has expanded their product portfolio, reinsurance capabilities, and customer service functions.

The Shanghai Insurance Association (SIA) was recognized in the Risk Management category for its auto insurance information exchange platform to regulate the market and improve the industry’s risk management. The insurance exchange platform, named the Shanghai Auto Insurance Information Exchange Platform, was commissioned by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission-Shanghai Bureau with the support of the Shanghai Municipal Government, in collaboration with several government agencies. Founded in 2008, TekInsure has developed a multi-regional full policy lifecycle technology framework that is agnostic of insurance product and distribution channel. Its enterprise level platform, named Collaborus, allows insurers to externalize fulfillment models, tightly integrate to distribution partner systems and set up an efficient operating model. The capabilities it provides to insurers’ commercial lines business targeting small and medium enterprises (SME) are particularly robust and compelling.

After the acquisition is completed, TekInsure will become a new business unit with Ken Slevin as the business unit director, reporting directly to eBaoTech’s CEO. Tauqeer Khan, TekInsure’s Chief Technology Officer, will join the global eBaoTech R&D team, based in Sydney. This is the first time that eBaoTech extends its R&D capacity outside of Shanghai.

Dah Sing Life Launches eBaoTech® LifeSystem

Hong Kong insurance company improves operational efficiency with eBaoTech’s modern policy administration system

eBaoTech, a leading provider of new generation software and services for the insurance industry, is pleased to announce that Dah Sing Life Assurance, a Hong Kong insurer, has completed the Phase 1 launch of eBaoTech LifeSystem to support its traditional life and unit-linked businesses.

Dah Sing Life Assurance (DSLA) operates its life insurance business in Hong Kong under the Dah Sing Financial Group. In January 2011, DSLA selected eBaoTech LifeSystem to replace its legacy systems running its traditional life and unit-linked businesses. Dah Sing chose eBaoTech’s modern, standards-based solution to enhance operational efficiency, launch new products faster, and provide both back-end operators and front-end users with a better user experience.

The project will be done in two phases. Phase 1 was completed to high quality standards and within budget, and consisted of the replacement of several legacy systems, as well as the implementation of standardized and automated processes to replace formerly manual procedures. During the Phase 1 project, the teams from DSLA and eBaoTech migrated over 200 active products from DSLA’s legacy system to LifeSystem, which now supports all new business.

Phase 2 is now underway, and is focused on existing customer data migration, integration with Dah Sing Life’s CRM solution, and the addition of direct marketing and telemarketing channels. It is expected to be completed in 12 months.

Sequislife and eBaoTech Celebrate the Phase 2 Completion of the i-qUBE System

Today, eBaoTech and Sequislife celebrated the successful Phase-2 launch of Sequislife’s new life insurance system based on the eBaoTech LifeSystem Suite at Sequis Center, Jakarta. The new system, named the Intelligent Sequis Business Enterprise System (i-qUBE), is now running Sequislife’s traditional and unit linked lines of business.

A journey to become one of the best Insurance companies has to be done through many changes in all aspects. Amongst them is the improvement of our operational system which we are now celebrating together with eBaoTech and all Sequislife’s employees, with the successful completion of i-qUBE. eBaoTech is an international company with the strong industry credibility and vast expertise to meet our needs. We have invested as much as USD 2.5 million in this new system,” said Tatang Widjaja, President Director of PT AJ Sequis Life.

The launch of this new system was done in two stages. Phase 1 was focused on unit linked products. In Phase 2, eBaoTech collaborated with Sequislife’s Actuary Department to create the reinsurance module, to enhance the existing claim module, and to add Sequislife’s traditional products on the platform. The launch of Phase 2 was completed just 6 months after the go-live of Phase 1.

Mr. Yeoh Ah Thoo, Sequislife Chief Technical Advisor, noted, “With the completion of Phase 2, Sequislife now has a comprehensive web-based system which is integrated in one platform. The efficiency of the system provides process standardization among all related departments, such as: Accounting, Agency Portal, Call Center and our Agency Compensation Department. We will continue to enhance this system from time to time to meet changing market needs.”

Argo Group Launches eBaoTech® GeneralSystem in its U.S. and Brazil Operations

In 2010, Argo selected eBaoTech’s Java-based insurance policy administration system for a pilot program to support its global growth strategy.

eBaoTech Develops Vehicle and Shipping Vessel Tax Collection Solutions for Beijing and Shanghai, China

eBaoTech, a leading provider of new generation software and services for the life and general insurance industries, is pleased to announce that the software solutions developed for Beijing and Shanghai’s municipal vehicle and shipping vessel tax collection are now operational. After validation from municipal tax regulators, the systems received the approval to go live at midnight on January 1, 2012 and are running smoothly.

The need for these solutions arose out of China’s recently enacted Vehicle and Shipping Vessel Tax Laws, released by the State Council of China. eBaoTech was selected to develop these tax collection software solutions because of its insurance software expertise and its knowledge of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) insurance industry platforms in both Beijing and Shanghai.

The Beijing Vehicle and Shipping Vessel Tax Collection functionality was integrated into the existing car insurance platform to streamline and centrally manage the tax and insurance authorities’ collection processes and records. This new system enabled Beijing’s local tax bureau to implement the new vehicle and shipping vessel tax regulations in an efficient and timely manner. It also allows vehicle and shipping vessel owners to pay their insurance and tax at the same time, simplifying the payment process for all parties involved.

The Shanghai Vehicle and Shipping Vessel Tax Collection system project was driven by the Shanghai Insurance Association. The development team from eBaoTech integrated the new vehicle and shipping vessel tax collection functionality into the existing Shanghai vehicle and shipping vessel insurance platform to comply with the new China Vehicle and Vessel Local Tax Law. A key project goal was to have one platform capable of handling both vehicle and shipping vessel insurance and tax payments, simplifying record-keeping and payment procedures for taxpayers, the Shanghai Insurance Association and Shanghai tax authorities.

With the cooperation and support of the related government bureaus and associations in Beijing and Shanghai, the eBaoTech team upgraded the existing information systems in three short months, while coordinating with all insurance companies in these two regions. The project results were highly recognized by the Shanghai Insurance Association, Beijing Insurance Association, Beijing local tax bureau and other government offices. The government bureaus and associations gave high marks to the implementation and consulting teams from eBaoTech for their professional knowledge and project management.

Shanghai and Beijing are the first to adopt this methodology of using the insurance payment system to collect vehicle and shipping vessel taxes. Relevant bureaus and regulators in other regions in China are evaluating the project implementation while assessing their tax compliance needs. The projects completed by eBaoTech in Shanghai and Beijing are a good reference model of how to standardize insurance operations at the national level, and how the insurance industry and tax bureaus can collaborate to improve operations.

The new system, named the Intelligent Sequis Business Enterprise System (i-qUBE), was launched to dramatically improve customer service and put Sequislife Insurance at the forefront of Indonesia’s life insurance market.

The entire sales force welcomed this new system, which will enable Sequislife to speed up and simplify the process of selling new business to prospective customers and improve our customer service,” said Director & Chief Agency Officer Mr. Bambang Rudijanto of Sequislife.

The launch of this new system, Mr. Yeoh Ah Thoo, Sequislife Chief Technical Advisor explained, consists of two stages. The i-qUBE launch is the first stage and serves both the unit-linked and traditional life insurance product lines. At this early stage, Sequislife will be more focused on unit-linked life insurance. The launch of the second phase is planned for mid-2012, he stated.

Mr. Yeoh noted, “Another advantage of the i-qUBE is that this system improves our efficiency because it automates formerly manual processes, making the system faster and more accurate. In addition, this system can run in an integrated manner with all stakeholders, such as our claims center, health agencies, call centers, sales representatives, and others. The system is also backed by a security system in case of disaster.”

eBaoTechは、本日楽偉梁がCTOとして当社に参加したことをお知らせいたします。楽博士はCEOのWoody Moに直属し、社内のプロダクト・リサーチと開発のすべてを指揮します。

eBaoTechに入社する以前、楽博士はSAP社やBusiness Object社などの、世界でも一流のソフトウェア会社何社かでプロダクト開発のシニァ・リーダーとして長く働いてきました。SAP社ではエンジニアリン グのVPであり、Business Object社では上海開発センターのマネージング・ディレクターでした。彼は上海開発センターがスタートした時点から順調に業務が行われるようになるま での5年間、立ち上げに関わりました。楽博士は中国の西安交通大学で博士号を取得しています。

英国第3位の自動車保険会社Admiral社より、同社のドイツ現地法人AdmiralDirekt.de向けに、保険契約管理システムと保険給付金管理システムの開発を受注しました。

Fortis 社は、オランダの個人顧客向けウェブ保険会社「Ditzo」の営業を2007年10月25日に開始しました。「Ditzo」は、ドイツ保険市場へローカル 化を短期間で完了したeBaoTech損害保険システムを証券管理システム業務のプラットフォームとして採用しました。

「Ditzo」のスタートで、Fortisは2010年までに新規保険契約の25%を「Ditzo」を通じて販売し、ウェブ保険会社のトップ3の座を獲得する意気込みです。

eBaoTechは、保険契約管理と保険製品設計で専門知識を活用しながら、Fortis社や他のパートナーと共同し、わずか5ヵ月でシステムの導入を完了しました。

eBaoTechが「Ditzo」のために開発したバックオフィス業務システムは、Virtual Affairs社が開発したe-ビジネスウェブサイトと連携します。これにより「Ditzo」の顧客は、ウェブサイトwww.ditzo.nlを通じて保 険商品の購入、保険金の請求や保険契約の変更申請を随時行うことができます。

中華聯合財産保険有限公司は、中国全土の子会社がeBaoTech AutoClaimシステムを採用する授権協議書にサインした。中華聯合は全国第三位の損害保険会社であり、自動車保険については全国第二位のシェアを占 めている。すでに上海、江蘇、河北の三省での子会社はシステム稼動に成功し、本日正式に起動を開始、その他子会社の起動は今年度末までに完了予定である。

Mayban Fortis社は、Maybank社とヨーロッパ有数の金融機関Fortis社の合資会社である。 2005年8月、協議書で傘下のマレーシア・ナショナル・インシュアランス(MNI)とTakaful National Sdn Berhad(TN)を含む、マレーシア・ナショナル・インシュアランス・ホールディング(MNIH)の買収を明確にした。買収規模の増大に伴い、現在は マレーシア随一の主要保険サービス業者へと変貌を遂げ、生命保険業務の市場シェア第三位(新契約第一位)、非生命保険業務シェア第二位、Takaful保 険業務中ではシェア第一位を占めるようになった。

上記背景の下、Mayban Fortis社は一つの統一されたプラットフォームでのソリューションを導き出す、損害保険コアシステムのスタンダード化を決定した。整合されたプロセス の一環として、Mayban Fortis社は傘下の3社既存のシステム移行を決めた。
1) Mayban General Assurance Berhad

2006年、eBaoTechとIBMインドは共同でeBaoTech GeneralSystemを用いてベンチマーク・テスティングを開始し、最終的なパフォーマンスとスケーラビリティに関するテストレポートが本日にリリースされた。

eBaoTechは、インドのバンガロールにあるIBMソリューション・センターでシステムに対し2週間のテストを行った。ベンチマークテストでは実際の 個人と団体保険業務を想定し、1,500万単位の契約と1,000GB以上ものデータ量のシミュレーションを行った。当社システムは、1時間に1,000 ものユーザーの同時利用と、34,000を超えるビジネス・トランサクションをサポートすることができる。1トランサクションにつき、2秒以内のレスポン スタイムで実行できることが確認できた。なお、このテストではIBMのeServer PSeriesとIBMのTotalStorageを利用した。

その基礎テストを通して、eBaoTech GeneralSystemは世界で最も強力な総合保険アプリケーションの一つであり、また大手保険会社のビジネスニーズを十分に満たせることが証明できた。

プルデンシャル・マレーシアおよびプルデンシャル・タイは、当社の医療・傷害保険システムを採用しました。

プルデンシャルの医療・傷害保険プロジェクト(YODA)は、2005年11月にギャップ分析着手により開始されました。 当社スタッフが一丸となって努 力した結果、2006年3月にはプルデンシャル・マレーシアに、さらに5ヵ月後の8月にはプルデンシャル・タイにて本番稼動を実現しました。

2005 年6月13日、スイス生命保険会社は易保情報システム会社にカスタマイズして作ってもらった財産管理類のプロダクトを主とした生命保険会社業務用コア・シ ステムを正式に使用し始めました。ただ9ヶ月しか実施していませんが、スイス生命保険会社はすでにリヒテンシュタインでの生命保険業務にこのシステムを使 い始めました。易保生命保険会社業務用コア・システムはウェブの集中管理に基づき、J2EEで開発され、Oracleで運行されるデータベース・プラット フォーム・システムです。このシステムがインストールされたら、スイス生命保険会社リヒテンシュタイン支社で採用しているシステムは今マーケットにある最 先進的な保険管理プラットフォーム・システムです。

信誠生命保険株式有限会社はUKPrudential Groupと中国中信会社の合資で成立した合弁保険会社です。

UKPrudential Groupはイギリスの最大手保険会社ですが、中国中信会社も金融領域で豊富な経験とリソースを持っています。双方が合資した信誠生命保険株式有限会社は中国で設立して以来、ずっと国内最大手の合弁保険会社です。

合衆生命保険会社は国内幾つの大手民営企業の合資で成立した新しい保険会社で、登録先が武漢です。何回の厳しい考査、テストと評価した最後、合衆生命保険会社は易保を生命保険業務用コア・システム・サプライヤーにして、協力関係を長期に保つつもりです。

易保は短時間に業務用コア・システムの運行準備を完成して合衆生命保険会社と積極的に協力しながら、保険監察会の査収を待っていました。2005年1月17日、合衆生命保険会社は保険監察会の査収に順調にパスしました!

2005年2月3日、易保の快速実施のサポートの下に、合衆生命保険会社は正式に開業して、また、ファースト保険証書を売り出しました。それはオリンピッ ク・チャンピオンーーわが国の有名なジムナスティックス選手李小双の意外保険証書です。同日、もう一枚の価値の高い団体保険証書も売りました。

中国人民保険生命保険株式有限会社は中国人民保険持株(グループ)会社(PICC)、日本住友生命保険株式有限会社とほかの外国株主二社が共同投資の下に成立した保険会社です。

中国人民保険持株(グループ)会社(PICC)は今の中国で一番大きい保険会社で、中国保険市場の半分を占めます。同時に、日本住友生命保険株式有限会社 も日本の第四位大手保険社です;今度、両方が合作して合資生命会社を設立しましたが、きっと短時間に優秀な業績を取られます。

人保生命保険株式有限会社は非常に公正、公平の入札、応札環境で中外専門家が共同入札考査した最後、全体賛成で易保をバック-グラウンド業務用コア・システム・サプライヤーとして選びました。また、双方は長期協力の契約をサインしました。

その他、中国人保生命保険株式有限会社は易保のフロント・プロダクションーー代理人用セールス・システムをも選びました。これでは、バック・グラウンドも     易保システムを利用する新たな保険会社になります。このようにフロントとプロダクションが一致するのがシステム全体をもっと効率的に運行させられます。こ れも   、たくさんの新しく成立した保険会社が易保のプロダクトを選んだ理由の一つです。

中国航空サムソン生命保険会社が韓国三星生命保険会社と中国国際航空グループの合資で組み合わせられた保険会社です。

サムソン生命保険会社は韓国最大の保険会社として、韓国国内市場の45パーセント以上も占めています。何回の評価した後、易保を選んで中国航空サムソン生 命保険会社のバックグラウンド運営システムのサプライヤーにしました。また、易保の代理人用のセールス・システムを購入して生命保険業務用コア・システム と集成した最効果的な組み合わせを通じて利益をもっと求めるつもりです。代理人用のセールス・システムはセールス管理道具で、代理人の仕事をさらに効率化 させるために、一連の自動的な処理ができます(例えば、自動的に価格を見積もられます)。実はこういうシステムがもう幾つかの大手保険会社からのたくさん の代理人に利用されています。

このプロジェクトが豊富な機能と拡張性を強調することも易保生命保険業務用コア・システム自身が高度なモジュール化の特徴を持つからです。このシステムは2005年5月正式に運転することになります。

NTUC Income保険会社は某上海ソフトウェア会社にソフトウェアを購入しました。双方は未来の協力し合いに自信を持っています。その上海会社もシンガポール及び周辺地域の業務発展を積極的に求めています。 

上海で、今年の夏のある日、チャンスはあるシンガポール保険会社とある中国ソフトウェア会社に与えられました。両社は協力し合い、相手の新市場の開拓に全力を尽くしていました。

陳欽亮はNTUC Income保険会社の社長です。今年の6月に、上海でのある保険国際会議へ出席しました。会場に彼はある保険ソフトウェアシステムのデモンストレーショ ンにチャームされました。そのソフトウェアは強大な機能を持ちます。そのソフトを採用すると、きっと保険のビジネスを促すだろうと思っていました。

莫元武は今年で44歳です。広西桂林の出身です。アメリカで物理学の博士学位をとりました。その後で、IBM会社のニューヨークにおいてのT.J. Watson研究センターに勤めていました。

中国の改革はみごとです。シンガポールは30年かかって、第三世界から第一世界に入りました。しかし、国土は広くて農民の多い国にとって、30年以上かかるでしょう。

但し、北京、上海及び海沿いの大都市は確かに30年をかかって、第一世界の生活レベルに達しました。今日、その都市はすっかり変わ り、新たな姿で現れます。我ら目に入るのはただ高層ビル、近代的な工場または数千里の高速道路だけでなく、改革にあわせる人民思想の転変です。1971 年、私ははじめて中国へ行った時、チップをテーブルに置くとき、ホステスは私に追ってお金を返しました。只今、中国の人々は富んで来ました。彼らは勉強に 冒頭します。そのスピードも速いです。

我らは既に中国と友好な関係を立てました。最初の時、我らは自分の発展経験を中国とシェアしました。今日まで、数百人の中国官員は 毎年シンガポールへ見学、勉強またはトレーニングをしにきました。現在、逆に、中国の高度成長の経済の中に、利益をとりたいです。その希望を持つ人はシン ガポールの華人だけでなく、シンガポールのマレー人、インド人と他の人です。

例えば、中国での中産階級はどんどん壮大になっていきます。2010年になると、中産階級の人数は4億あまりに達すると予期しま す。そういう人々は旅行する経済力を持ちますから、中国の国内とも海外とも旅行できます。目前、わが国毎年50万人の中国の観光客を接待しました。後で、 中国籍の観光客はシンガポールへ旅行する時、その手続きを簡略します。これで、中国の観光客をもっとアピールします。

その他、中国企業は外国の株式で上場することをスピード伐ⅴ氓?筏蓼?¥?瓮?rに、対外投資の株式価値も25年前の0ドールから270億ドールあまりに達しました。その面でも、一部の利益をとりたいです。

一部の中国企業はシンガポールを中心にし、周辺の国へ広がっています。ある中国企業はシンガポールを乗換駅にし、中国のミシンをイ ンドネシアに販売します。その他、シンガポールを通し、洗濯機、クーラーと電気自動車をアジアの国に販売します。シンガポールの商人は海外へ発展する時 も、中国の商家へ協力し合い、自分に位置づけることも知っているべきです。

しかし、そのチャンスをうまく利用する前に、シンガポール人は中国語をよくマスターすべきです。中国でビジネスのチャンスは無限多いです。世界中で2500万人は中国以外で中国語を勉強しています。

バイリンガリズムをわが国に与えたメリットを失うべきではありません。もしわが国は中国語を軽視すれば、ほかの国の人々は熱心に中 国を勉強して、わが国と中国とのビジネスでの優位性は間も無くなくなります。ですから、私はもう「中国語の勉強問題」について、教育部長、張志賢と相談し ました。それで、バイリンガリズムをよくマスターするエリートたちを育成します。彼らは中国の文化、歴史及び最新発展状況を精通します。これで、中国へ商 売にいくシンガポール人にとって、助かりです。

実際は、ある中国人のガイドは、未来シンガポール人は中国で生活を送り、仕事をすると希望しています。私の奥さんの弟の話によると、彼はある観光団に参加し、蘇州工業園を見学するとき、その中国人のガイドは彼らにこういいました。

「この工業園が貴国に建てられたものです。もしかしたら、将来、君たちの子孫がここに定住するかもしれませんね。」

我らの子孫が中国に定住しようかしないか、分かりませんが、定められたのは、我らの学生達、特に奨学金の受賞した学生をできるだけ中国のトップ大学へ研修に行かせるべきです。これでは、彼らが中国将来のリーダー、公務員、ビジネスマンとのネットワークを建てられます。

これは何故私は中国国家副主席胡錦濤と両国の優秀な大学生相互交流の交換プロジェクトに一致したかの原因です。初め中国に行くシン ガポールの大学生は来年6月の予定で、中国トップ大学からの50名の学生もその二ヶ月後にシンガポールに来ることになっています。この交換プロジェクトに 参加した学生には、政府機関を見学したり、大臣と高級オフィサーに話したりするチャンスがあります。

もし我らは中国語も英語もでき、欧米人を理解するように中国人を理解できれば、必ず中国高速経済成長のうちに利益を得られます。
